It was beginning to become of habit of doing random stuff at night but we were kind of running out of ideas for random stuff to do. Sara had told us about spinning steel wool but we weren't exactly sure what that meant or what it was. We also wanted to go to the Salt Flats for some reason. So one night we decided to go to a concert and then drive to the Bonneville Salt Flats. We didn't get out of the concert until about 10:00 and then we decided to go to Mcdonalds so we didn't end up leaving Provo until about 11:00 which means we arrived at the Salt Flats about 1:15. And it was pitch black so we couldn't really see much but it was my first time along with Kate, Gv, Sara and Charles' first time. It was kind of a dumb idea to go because it was so dark that we really couldn't see anything but we definitely tested the speedway and went pretty fast. After that we pulled over and stuck some steel wool in a whisk and then tied a string around the whisk and lit the wool on fire and spun it. Pictures of what happened are featured below. The string actually ended up breaking and it flew off and hit me right in the forehead where my headlamp was so luckily nothing bad happened but it was a potentially very dangerous situation. Then on the way back, Kate's phone ended up slipping into a cup of mountain dew and so we thought buying ramen (closest equivalent to rice we could find) would help try to dry the liquid out but it was done for. And then the ramen somehow ended up all over the floor on my car. But all in all it was a fun little adventure. Getting back at 7:00 and then having to work 9:00-4:00 was not a fun adventure however.
